When to Start Using Anti-Aging Skincare Products

The best time to start using anti-aging skincare is not when you see wrinkles, but before they appear. Dermatologists across the board all agree that preventing is much better and faster than correcting.

When to Start?

Mid-20s Should be the Goal

A little after age 25, your body will start to slow natural collagen production and cell turnover. You don't need heavy duty stuff yet but a lightweight preventative product can help with skin defenses long term.

A few signs to watch for:

If you have any of the below, you can start doing something about it:

  • Some mild dryness or dullness

  • Some occasional fine lines (typically around the eyes or mouth)

  • May be slightly uneven tone or texture

These would be early signs of aging, subtle right now but guaranteed to become more noticeable over time.

Skincare products that you should have:

  1. Gentle Cleanser:

Use a non-stripping facial cleanser to help keep the moisture levels balanced on your skin.

Example: Albizzia's Cleansing Mousse - gentle yet effective.

  1. Hydrating Moisturiser with Actives:

Seek out products that contain hyaluronic acid, peptides or ceramides- those actives hydrate, improve elasticity, and strengthen the skin barrier.

  1. Anti-Aging Serum:

Use lightweight, antioxidant-rich formulas that focus on supporting cell turnover as they age.

Albizzia's Age Reversal Elixir combines botanicals and modern actives for a preventative measure for the onset of aging.

  1. Daily Sunscreen (SPF 50 or higher):

UV damage is the #1 external cause of premature aging. Everyone should use Daily SPF, rain or shine.

Why starting early works:

  • Keeps fine lines and wrinkles from becoming ingrained

  • Reduces over time hyperpigmentation and sun damage

  • Builds your skin barrier and makes skin more durable to aging damage

Anti-aging skincare is a preventative and not just a corrective approach. Think of it as a foundation, what you do in your 20s and 30s will come through in your 40s and later. Go simple, be consistent and maintain your glow early.
